Doctor Committees: Cancel the Agreement

Doctor committees at four hospitals wrote to Chairman Leonid Idelman of the Israel Medical Federation on Sunday, demanding that he back out of the collective bargaining agreement recently signed between the federation and the Finance Ministry. The committees claim that the representation by the federation was "Inappropriate," making it clear that if the agreement is not cancelled, "we will exploit all legal means at our disposal."

More than 100 interns filed new, individual letters of resignation from their hospitals on Sunday, after the National Labor Court ruled that the old, collective resignations were illegal. Residents at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, near Tel Aviv, started a hunger strike in protest of the court's ruling against their resignations.
