Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke on Friday afternoon of the planned demonstration in Tel Aviv on Saturday night against the cost of living.
Speaking at an event marking 30 years of the Libi Fund for soldiers, Barak said, “The results of this protest movement are already felt. I have no doubt that if only 100,000 people come to the demonstration tomorrow night and not one million, or if they take down the tents tomorrow or in two weeks or a month - the result of this protest is a new discourse in society. The result of this protest will stay with us in the long term.”
