The Russian Foreign Ministry has announced that Russia acknowledges the temporary rebel council as the Libyan authority. “The Russian federation acknowledges the temporary national council in Libya as the current authority responsible for the establishment of a new constitution, new elections and forming a government.”
Russia is one of the last countries to acknowledge the rebel council. The rebels have announced that the russian refusal to acknowledge them will have an affect on the export of Libyan oil to Russia.
