The Gesher Theatre, mainly made up of olim from the former Soviet Union, celebrated its 20th anniversary on Monday evening in a special show held in the garden of the home of President Shimon Peres.

The event was attended by actors, writers, artists, and lovers of the theater who have been accompanying it throughout the years. A special show specifically written for the celebration was put on, bringing the inspiring story of one of the most important cultural institutions in Israel.

“The Gesther Theatre has sent out a unique intellectual theme for twenty years,” Peres said in his remarks. “It is a miracle of a Jewish culture which speaks in two languages. Gesher’s actors have captured Israel’s heart.”
