The excise tax on gasoline that had been set to be instituted in August – but was delayed because of protests over the high price of gas – will come into effect on September 1. The tax, at 20 agurot a liter, is not expected to substantially impact the retail price of gasoline, however, because of lower oil prices.
Prices will be adjusted on September 1.
