The official value of the shekel declined an average of .577 percent against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list on Friday. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.626, up .471 percent from Thursday's rate. Similar increases were recorded by the Canadian dollar, Jordanian dinar and Egyptian pound.
The Euro rose .443 percent to 5.235 shekels and the pound sterling was set at NIS 5.9178, up .161 percent. The recently volatile Swiss frank rose .814 percent to 4.5823 shekels and 100 Japanese yen brought NIS 4.7106, up .718 percent. The Norwegian krona, Swedish krone and South African rand rose more than six tenths of a percent.
