IDF Commander Tried for Abusing Soldier


A commander in the Israel Defense Forces was tried, Thursday, for abusing one of his soldiers, according to a Friday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. The abuse allegedly included threats, curses and verbal humiliation, as well as a physical blows.

The commander said he and the soldier were friends, adding that he slapped him after the alleged victim irritated him. In light of the allegations, the military is examining the officer's future as a commander.
