The free Yisrael Hayom daily announced on Thursday that it will start charging for delivery to its subscribers on October 23rd. The delivery charge will be 52 shekels ($14.41) a month for those who receive the paper daily and half that much for those who just receive the Friday paper and its weekend supplements.
The newspaper's daily circulation is 275,000. And additional 25,000 receive it on Fridays. Yisrael Hayom Chief Executive Tzippi Koren said the newspaper will continue to be handed out where there are large numbers of passersby. She said the paper was planning to begin the delivery service in January, but decided to start it earlier due to popular demand.
