Dozens of taxi drivers protested in Tel Aviv on Wednesday over a government plan to reduce the price of gas by cutting taxes. The drivers say the price cut will benefit only private car owners, while they will be forced to pay 9-10 shekels a liter for gasoline.
Protesters blocked traffic with a massive convoy of taxis.
Earlier in the day oil company employees protested the planned tax cuts, which will cut into company profits. The workers expressed concern that the cuts would lead to mass layoffs.
