Tent protest coordinator Dafni Leef called on the Trachtenberg Committee to resign on Wednesday. “The Trachtenberg Committee is cynical and cruel... It has no mandate to create change,” she said at a press conference.

Leef told Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, “You don't need another committee, you already have one. We call to you – reconvene the Knesset.” The Knesset is currently on summer vacation.

Leef, a young New Israel Fund employee, is often credited by media for having started nationwide protests against the cost of living, and the high cost of housing in particular.
