Doctors in Israel's public hospitals and clinics will get an average of 45 shekels an hour under a new agreement with the Treasury, and specialists will get an average of 55 shekels an hour, the HNN news site reported Wednesday. The new salaries are higher than the current salaries by nearly 50%.
The Israel Medical Association has been conducting strikes for several months in protest of doctors' low salaries and long hours.
