UN Delegation Asked to Leave by Syrians

Syria on Monday night demanded the departure of a UN delegation that had arrived in the city of Homs to inspect the human rights situation in the city. The delegation was asked to leave after Syrian supporters of Bashar al-Assad killed three anti-government protesters earlier.

The UN Human Rights Council on Monday called on Syria to stop preventing protests against the Assad government. The Council blamed the ongoing violence on Syrian army troops, and said that some 2,200 people had been killed so far.
