Three Assad Opponents Killed at Protest

Three opponents of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad were killed by what a human rights activist said were “supporters of the Assad regime.” The three were killed in the city of Homs during preparations for a protest to be held during the visit of UN officials to the city in order to examine the situation there firsthand.

The UN Human Rights Council is set to hold a special session Monday to examine the violence in Syria, a day after Assad said he was “not worried” about UN or other intervention in Syria.
