In a special White House press conference President Obama said that Syrian President was guilty of a massacre against his own people and must step down and not stand in their way.
The US published an operational order that places new sanctions on Syria, freezing Syrian Assets in the US, and banning purchase of Syrian oil products.
The EU also reiterated its demand that Assad resign, and is preparing to upgrade the sanctions against his regime.
