Interior Defense Responsible for Carmel Bus

The Shas Yom Leyom newspaper reports that the Minister of Interior Affairs, Eli Yishai warned eight times within the six months prior to the Carmel forest fire, that more budget must be allocated to firefighting services. Yishai warned the comptroller, the government and the treasury. He said 665 million NIS were necessary to subsidize the firefighting services, otherwise the service would collapse, and lives were at stake.

Yom Leyom Also relates that according to the comptroller's report on the fire, the responsibility for the bus that was engulfed by the inferno  lies with the Commanding officers involved, and particularly with the Ministry of Interior Defense.
