About 500 people demonstrated, Sunday afternoon, in front of the Peri Hagalil produce processing plant in the Galilee town of Hatzor. They were protesting last week's layoffs of 58 employees due to the company's financial problems. Another 60 face dismissal.

Demonstrators burned tires at the entrance to the town and chanted, "Don't work the workers over," "Upper Galilee - Lower Budget," and "The government is in a traffic jam on the way to the periphery."
