The Ministry for Interior Affairs has transferred 235 million NIS to local authorities as an addition to the balance grant approved by the PM, the minister of interior affairs and the local control centers.
Another 140 million NIS will be transferred during the year.
Interior Affairs Minister Eli Yishai (Shas) said “These days we truly have come to appreciate how important a strong local authority is for the well-being of the Israeli citizens. The head of the authority cares for the welfare of the people, and must be strengthened.”
