Israel Funds Treatment, Equipment for PA Woman

The Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria reported, Thursday, that it combined with Hadassah Ein-Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem to fund treatment and medical equipment for a woman from the Palestinian Authority city of Kalkilye, across the 1949 ceasefire line from the Israeli city of Kfar-Sava, for treatment unavailable in the PA for an infection in her small intestine that developed from treatment in the PA.

The administration coordinated the 29-year-old mother of five's entry to Hadassah, where doctors were forced to remove the organ. Because of the patient's resulting inability to digest food in a normal way, funding was arranged to provide her with a TPN device, which enables nutrition via her blood vessels. The administration and the hospital coordinated and funded the return of the woman to Kalkilye with the device and doses of nutrition to allow her to continue to live her life and ease her condition.
