Protesters calling to lower the cost of living held a rally Tuesday over the rising cost of electricity. The Electric Company has raised prices following the halt several times this year of the flow of gas from Egypt, which forced it to use more expensive fuel.
An estimated 200 people marched from protest tents in central Jerusalem to the Prime Minister's residence bearing torches. “We came to expel the darkness – Lower the price of electricity,” read one sign, while another said, “End privatization.”
