Vehicles used to transport children to and from school or daycare should be required to install a device that will alert the driver if a child is still in the car after it has been locked, MK Zev Bielsky proposed Tuesday. He made the suggestion in a letter to Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz.
The proposal follows the death of 3-year-old Tali Dashkov, who was accidentally left in a car on Monday. A driver took Dashkov and 14 other children to daycare, but forgot she was in the vehicle and left her inside, asleep. She died due to overheating, and was buried Tuesday evening.
