When the Heavens Approached Earth

A new Hebrew book by Sarah Aharoni describes the trials and tribulations of a Jewish family expelled and relocated from Gush Katif. From the rich communal life while raising a tomato greenhouse, all the while under constant security threat, to the sudden change that came with the decision to expel.

The author presents the family’s dilemmas in trying to reconstruct the fragments of their lives after relocation, detailing the difficulties of the teenagers in particular.

The book puts the readers in the ‘front seat’ as it were, allowing them to experience the event of the expulsion from an emotional first-hand point of view.
