The Pa'amonim organization announced, on Monday, that it would hold economic workshops around the country for students in the Hesder yeshiva program, which combines Torah studies with military service. The organization cited rising prices and their adverse effect on Israel's middle class.
Pa'amonim has been working for years to help families out of financial crises. The nationwide program for Hesder yeshivas follows pilot programs at the Hesder yeshivas in Kiryat Shmonah and Shadmot Mecholah. The workshops will be split into three sessions covering budgets, banking, consumerism, citizens' rights and responsibilities, and government agencies, such as the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Le'umi) and the Income Tax Authority.
