Modest to Sharp Losses for TA Stocks in Pre-Trading

Following Sunday's high-volume plunge, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started pre-trading on Monday with modest to sharp declines in prices. The TA composite index was down 2.03 percent at 942.59, with the TA 100 checking in at 951.82, down 2.16 percent, including an opening 1,049.50 figure for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues, 2.31 percent lower than Sunday's close.

The oil and natural gas index was off 2.51 percent at 1002.73, while the technology index fell 2.25 percent to 240.62, including a .67 drop by the biomed stocks to 693.68. The financial institutions, which were the worst hit on Sunday, started at 952.91, down .88 percent, including the insurance issues, which were off .46 percent at 1,074.79.
