Three Libyans were killed in a town south east of Tripoli that has until now remained quiet, a local resident told Reuters on Thursday.
The resident said the incident began as a clash between people waiting in a line outside a bakery in the town of Msalata, about 110 km (70 miles) from Libya’s capital.
He said police intervened and the clash turned into a protest against the authorities, adding that when police called in troops to help them regain control, three people were killed.
