About a thousand people went to the lawn outside the Histadrut Labor Federation building in Tel Aviv, Thursday evening, to participate in a demonstration for affordable housing and other social-justice issues under the slogan, "The workers are with the protest." Activists from the No'ar Ha'oved Vehalomed (Working and Learning Youth) movement and employee groups in the public and private sector arrived to express their support.
Penina Klein, and employee of the Na'amat women's organization, called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to resign, adding, "It's a disgrace to the state of Israel, which abandons all the children of Israel." She continued, "Not a small number of women must go out looking for other jobs to bring home income. The time has come for the state to take social responsibility."
