Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished Thursday's trading with moderate to sharp losses. The TA composite index fell 1.91 percent to 1,038.04, reflecting the TA 100, which closed at 1,048.26, down 1.94 percent and the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues, which declined 1.97 percent to 1,154.96.
Worst hit were the financial institutions, which fell 3.9 percent as the insurance index took a 4.31 percent hit to fall to 1,196.28 and bank stocks closed at 1,183.46, down 3.59 percent. Media/communications stocks fell 2.31 percent to 935.80, and biomed index finished the day at 768.51, down 2.16 percent. The other technology stocks fell 1.16 percent to 269.00, and the oil/natural-gas index closed at 1,136.51, down 1.45 percent.
