Students' Demands: More Aid, Free Daycare

After weeks of protesting, the Student Union members at a tent protest in Tel Aviv have released detailed demands, published Tuesday in Yediot Aharonot. Among the demands were reduction of the VAT, free state education for children beginning at three months of age, an end to privatization in the field of welfare and mental health, and more staff and equipment in medical centers nationwide.

While the students also had demands regarding the price of housing, they rejected Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's steps to reduce housing prices, demanding that the prime minister repeal a proposed law aimed at speeding up the construction process.
