With the government preparing to spend billions of shekels on new social programs and benefits for the middle class, the question of where that money will be coming from has been asked by MKs and ministers. One place it won't be coming from, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Monday, is from the defense budget. “We must be cautious when it comes to discussing cuts from the defense budget,” Netanyahu told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Monday.
Netanyahu added that Israel must act cautiously in making the necessary changes in the economy. “Without proper management, Israel could find itself like other countries that have lost control of their economies, like Greece and Spain.”
