Kadima Wants Vote on Knesset Recess Cancellation

Member of Knesset Shlomo Mula (Kadima) sent a letter to Chairman Yariv Levin of the Knesset's House Committee on Monday, in which he demanded an immediate meeting of the committee to discuss and vote on demands by Knesset members from a number of factions to delay the parliament's summer recess.

Mula said, "The Knesset cannot be disconnected from the people and Members of Knesset cannot go on vacation at a time when the Israeli public is involved in a mass protest on the street. The Knesset walls are not made of steel and no attempt to strangle the public discussion will succeed. The chairman of the Knesset House Committee must sever his commitments to the prime minister and his political crisis, and allow a hearing and a vote on the matter as soon as possible."
