Police and Shin Bet security officers recently arrested 17 Arabs from the Issawiya neighborhood of Jerusalem on charges that they attempted to murder Nir Nachshon, a repairman who accidentally drove into the neighborhood in June. Nachshon was savagely attacked by a gang of Arabs and was nearly the victim of a lynch, saved from being murdered by the mukhtar of the neighborhood.

The arrests took place in recent weeks, police released for publication Sunday. Several of the culprits are teenagers. Another 8 Arabs are to be arrested in the coming days, police said.
