Peres Meets With Doctors' Union Head

President Shimon Peres met Sunday morning with the head of the Doctors' Union, Leonid Idelman, who is still on a hunger strike, leading doctors' protests demanding better work schedules and higher salaries. Peres appealed to Idelman to enter negotiations to end the strike quickly.

“This is no time for stretched-out scenarios,” Peres said. “I appeal to the government, and to you, to bring an end to this crisis. I will speak to the government and do what I can to end the crisis.”
