Erdan Slams Soldiers Protesting Over High Prices

In the wake of an interview on Israel Radio Sunday morning with two IDF reserve soldiers who said that they were considering skipping their service in protest over high living costs, Environment Minister Gilad Erdan said that it was inappropriate to mix politics and army service.

The soldiers said that they realized that they had an obligation to serve, but that they wanted the government to know that they had bills to pay and that they needed the government's support, while they supported the army. Erdan said that IDF soldiers had an obligation to keep politics out of their army service, and that this applied to soldiers in regular service as well as those in reserve service.
