Egypt said over the weekend that the trial of former President Hosni Mubarak was likely to begin this Wednesday, and would take place at the Egyptian Police Academy. Arrangements for the attendance of the trial by the press will be unveiled Sunday, the state controlled MENA news agency said.

It is not clear if the 83-year old Mubarak will himself attend the trial. Mubarak is under arrest at a hospital in Sharm el-Sheikh. He has been declared healthy enough to stand trial by Egyptian doctors.
