Farmer: Dairies will Close and it's Netanyahu's Fault

Adi Cohen, a dairy farmer from the Jewish community of Avnei Eitan in the southern Golan Heights, said Thursday that dairies will close as a result of the government's decision, announced earlier in the day, to reduce the price it pays farmers for raw milk and to open the hard cheese market to imports. He told Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service that the policy clearly violates a three-month-old law passed by the Knesset.

Cohen said that dairy farmers were forced to invest in environmental protection measures that resulted in loans that are difficult to make a living with. He added that their financial books were closely scrutinized, and now the government was driving people away from the areas to which it sent them.
