Deputy Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman and the professional staff of the Health Ministry presented the principles of a program to reform nursing care insurance to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday. The program is intended to expand eligibility for medical nursing care for senior citizens from all sectors of the economy. The program also seeks to reduce bureaucracy in senior care, which is currently handled by six government offices and other bodies. The bottom line is improvement of treatment by centering it in one framework.
The program would be handled through the government's basket of health care subsidies. Deputy Minister Litzman said he is determined to advance the program in the coming months.
