      Housing Crisis: Concrete Monopoly Criticized

According to MK Einat Wilf, if Israel wants to reduce the price of housing, one crucial step will be the dismantling of the Nesher concrete company. “The Nesher concrete monopoly.... plays more than a small role in the high price of housing,” Wilf said.

Nesher has fought against opening the market to imports from Jordan, Turkey, Romania and elsewhere, she said. “The damage [done by the monopoly] has managed to stay under the radar in discussions of housing in Israel, and we must not let this topic escape criticism,” she declared.
