The Israel Electric Company expects the demand for electricity to rise above 11,000 megawatts on Monday because of the heat. The utility will provide about 10,450MW, with 450 to come from private power companies and 100 to come from certain consumers.
The company's reserve at peak usage time is expected to come to only 200MW. Sunday's peak was 10,250MW. Last summer's highest peak was 11,530MW.
