The Ometz movement petitioned the local affairs court in Ariel, Monday, to dismiss Chairman Avi Naim as chairman of the Beit Aryeh local council. Naim was elected after presenting a false biography to the public.
Chairman Aryeh Avneri of the Ometz leadership said, "It's an important petition, which deals in the basic obligation of an elected public official to tell the truth. The truth is at the very heart of public integrity. Damage to this basic value endangers the stability of the entire system of government."
