Member of Knesset Einat Wilf (Ha'atzma'ut) criticized, on Sunday, a decision by the Education Ministry to privatize the hiring of substitute teachers. Dr. Wilf, who initiated a Knesset Education, Culture and Sport Committee hearing on the subject, Monday, said that the companies are deciding who will teach without a requirement for teacher training. She added that they were lowering the working conditions and job security of teachers.

MK Wilf said the new move exacerbates the phenomenon of professional teachers leaving, only to be replaced by less experienced and less professional teachers, which adversely affects the students.
