In an interview with Arabic media, a Syrian soldier described the heavy hand the Syrian army is taking against protesters. The soldier illicitly left Syria and managed to reach Cairo, and told the London-based a-Shark al-Awsat newspaper that soldiers had shot and killed other soldiers who refused to open fire on protesters. He said that protesters were unarmed, and that claims by the Syrian government that those protesting against Bashar al-Assad's regime were terrorists were completely untrue.
The soldier added that he saw numerous Hizbullah terrorists on Syrian army bases in Damascus. The Hizbullah terrorists were wearing Syrian army uniforms, he added.
