Abbas: Talks With Israel Will Continue, Regardless

On a visit to Spain, Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas said that he expected the PA to present its case for statehood in September to the UN – but that doing so would not harm negotiations with Israel, which he said he expected to be revived soon. “We know for certain that we will be returning to the negotiating table with the Israelis in order to achieve the best possible arrangement,” Abbas told reporters in Spain.

Abbas was in Spain as part of his campaign to persuade world leaders to support the PA's demand for an Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.
