Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday that the efforts by the PA to achieve unilateral recognition of a state at the UN Security Council will not hurt the peace negotiations with Israel.
“We want to continue the negotiations,” Abbas said during a visit in Spain. He added that the PA wishes “to return to the negotiating table to achieve the best possible solution with Israel” regardless of the results of the vote in the UN.
