Wednesday's debate over a proposed parliamentary committee to investigate foreign-funded far-left groups was a success, according to Yisrael Beiteinu head Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. “The first victory is the very existence of public debate, and the success in bringing this onto the agenda. This is one of the issues that we have wanted to make a topic of public debate for some time, and that has been done,” he told journalists following the Knesset debate.
There is a second victory as well, he said, “the attempt by coalition partners to copy Yisrael Beiteinu. When I see the anti-boycott law and 'foreign agent' bill, I understand that our approach has won.”
