NZ Media: Israeli Quake Victim a Spy
An Israeli killed in the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand in February may have been a Mossad agent, New Zealand's Southland Times newspaper reports. The paper said Ofer Mizrachi, who was killed when falling concrete hit his van, was found to have been carrying several passports, raising suspicions that he was a spy.
Israeli Ambassador Shemi Tzur dismissed the report as “science fiction.” Tzur, who met with Mizrachi's friends shortly after his death, said, “They were shocked and crying, they were just talking about their friends... These were youngsters holidaying in your beautiful country.”
Mizrachi had more than one passport, but not five or six, Tzur said. Dual citizenship is common in Israel, he noted.
