EU Critical over Judea, Samaria Housing
The European Union has criticized plans to allow Jews living in Judea and Samaria to build more than 300 housing units. “We reiterate that the EU considers that settlement activities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are illegal under international law, undermine trust between the parties and constitute an obstacle to peace,” AFP quoted spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic as saying.
The housing units are to be built in “settlement blocs” that successive Israeli governments have expressed plans to keep even in case of a deal with the Palestinian Authority.
