Israeli Cleared in Shvut Ami Case

An Israeli man from Shvut Ami was cleared of charges of infringing on a Palestinian Authority woman's property rights on Tuesday. The man had been accused of staying in an area within the Israeli town of Shvut Ami that is owned by a PA family.

Judge Nava Bechor found that while the PA woman in question may be the owner of the land, doubt exists in the matter, making it impossible to find the defendant definitely guilty. She noted that according to a different version of events, reported by a police investigator, the land is owned by a Jordanian man.
