Doctors, Treasury Talk Again

Israel Medical Association representatives are meeting with Treasury officials in an attempt to hammer out an agreement prior to a Labor Court session. The court session was initially scheduled for 6 p.m., but was pushed off for two hours in order to give both sides more time to reach a deal.

Doctors have been conducting an on-and-off partial strike for months. They are asking for higher salaries, a higher doctor-to-patient ratio in hospitals, and an end to back-to-back shifts lasting more than 20 hours.
