Executive Director Naftali Bennet of the Yesha Council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria condemned, on Monday, members of the Meretz party and other extreme leftists for their campaign to label products made in the region in an attempt to make people not buy them. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Bennet called the campaign a nasty, vile act reminiscent of "dark" regimes, and said those taking part should be ashamed of themselves.
Bennet said companies in the area report sales of their products taking off as a result of the campaign. Nevertheless, he noted, there's no way of knowing where the campaign will lead, adding that ancient Jerusalem was destroyed because of needless hatred. He said if the purpose of the campaign is to remove the Jewish population from the region, anyone who sees some applying the labels should tell them to be ashamed of themselves.
