In a secret document obtained by Arutz Sheva, Commander Nimrod Aloni of the Samaria Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces admits the deployment of forces to prevent unauthorized entry to Joseph's Tomb in the Palestinian Authority-assigned city of Shechem about a month ago was a mistake. The document adds that police arrived late and got in the way of the military.
One of the conclusions of the investigation is that no more than 300 worshippers be admitted and that the hours of the visits be limited to between midnight and 4:00 a.m. It was suggested that tighter control be provided through the sale of tickets via telephone and intenet by the Samaria Regional Council. The council would also coordinate the entry of vehicles to the site with the IDF. Violence by visitors should be documented to aid in their prosecution.
