Secretary-General Chilik Bar of the Labor Party sent a letter, Thursday evening, to all the candidates for party chairmanship, asking them to wait in their media efforts until the party finishes its investigation into suspicions of fraud in its recent registration drive. Following leaks from the morning meeting of the party's election committee, Bar said he was questioned by reporters based on "partial, slanted, and tendentious numbers which were not final," generated by individual campaign headquarters or representatives on the party's election committee.

Bar said such behaviour is making the work of investigators harder and could deal a fatal blow to Labor, as well as harming efforts to rehabilate its name.
